How to Make Egyptian Palace Bread
Egyptian Palace Bread is a delicious dessert.
Ingredients
- 10 slices of firm white bread
- Slice french bread & leave crust on it.
- 2 cups honey
- 1/2 pint heavy cream or use can of whip cream
Steps
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- Remove crusts from the bread.
- Soak the slices of bread in the honey for at least half an hour.
- Lightly grease a small deep baking dish.
- Pile the slices of bread evenly using a spatula, placing one on top of another, in the baking dish.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Place into the fridge and leave to chill.
- Serve by cutting into slices and topping with heavy cream.
Tips
- For a single serve, use only 3-4 slices of bread and bake at a lower temperature.
Warnings
- Let dessert cool for at least 15 minutes before eating, as the inside will be hot.
- Always wear oven mitts when handling hot dishes.
- Don't give honey to children under the age of 1 yrs old.
