How to Make Egyptian Palace Bread

Egyptian Palace Bread is a delicious dessert.

Ingredients

  • 10 slices of firm white bread
  • Slice french bread & leave crust on it.
  • 2 cups honey
  • 1/2 pint heavy cream or use can of whip cream

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Remove crusts from the bread.
  3. Soak the slices of bread in the honey for at least half an hour.
  4. Lightly grease a small deep baking dish.
  5. Pile the slices of bread evenly using a spatula, placing one on top of another, in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Place into the fridge and leave to chill.
  8. Serve by cutting into slices and topping with heavy cream.

Tips

  • For a single serve, use only 3-4 slices of bread and bake at a lower temperature.

Warnings

  • Let dessert cool for at least 15 minutes before eating, as the inside will be hot.
  • Always wear oven mitts when handling hot dishes.
  • Don't give honey to children under the age of 1 yrs old.
